DESCRIPTION
Alma is a 3.5-year-old small Cross Breed, with a very sad story. Her "family" went to pick up mushrooms and left her in a forest in Northern Spain. They got into the car and she ran after them as far as she could, but couldn’t reach them…She ran and ran until a neighbor saw her and called us. The look in her eyes when we picked her up was soul-crushing, hence her name Alma, which means soul in Spanish.Alma is a gem of a dog, we only have good words for her... she is very well balanced, calm, good, affectionate, likes her walks, sociable with other dogs and cats and walks great on the lead. What more can you ask for?
Both, with people and with other animals she is a love. Alma would even get along with crocodiles :) She’s good with other dogs, both male and female, but she doesn’t like it when they are too pushy and she feels overwhelmed. In these situations, she will take herself away from them. She has no grudge for how she was abandoned, she only has love to give... she is super quiet and perfect for any environment where there is a lot of love for her.
Alma is very good natured, and good at home. In her foster home she hasn’t chewed or destroyed anything and she doesn’t bark or whine when left. She is an obedient girl, and she is good in the car as well. In general she is very well behaved and a sweet girl.
For Alma we are looking for a middle-aged home who is active and where they are happy to include her in as much outdoor activities as possible. She is not a couch potato and enjoys her long walks. Alma can also live in a calm home with dog savvy children.
Alma is currently in Spain in foster care in Spain, but ready to travel to her forever home as soon as the right person or family comes forward. She will travel vaccinated, chipped, spayed and tested for Mediterranean diseases.
She can be adopted in England and Wales, but not Scotland. If you are interested in this sweet girl, we are happy to hear from you. Please get in touch and let us know a little about you, where you live, what your experience of dogs is, and what you can offer this lovely girl.
