DESCRIPTION
Gin is a beautiful male Cross-Breed of around 2 years old. He is the result of another irresponsible litter. Gin and his siblings were brought into a pound in Northern Spain as strays, so we don’t know anything about their past. Sadly the puppies then caught parvovirus, and some didn't make it. Gin was one of the lucky ones, and we hoped he would quickly find a home, but sadly - 2 whole years later - he's still waiting.
Originally we thought the litter may be a Belgian Shepherd mix, but they have actually grown up to be a lot smaller than expected. Nonetheless, they are active boys, who love to spend their days playing and exploring.
Gin will need a patient and understanding family, who understands that he has had very limited socialisation and life experience so far. He has grown up in a rural area, without meeting many new people, or learning what it feels like to be in a car, on a lead, in a home or in an urban environment.
Traffic, household noises etc. will all be new and potentially scary, and Gin will need help and guidance to grow in confidence in these areas.
Having said this, when volunteers visited the boarding kennel to meet Gin and his brothers, they found them to be more social around new people than expected. They did approach and could be handled, which is no small thing for dogs who have had such limited exposure to strangers in critical periods of development.
We feel Gin would make a wonderful addition to the right family, and at only 2 years old, he has his whole life ahead of him to enjoy life in a home.
We are looking for an adult only home or a home without young children, as we want dogs who require more time like himself to be the priority. Gin would love to live with another resident dog, as he has never known what it feels like to have dogs around him. We also feel it would help him adjust to a new environment with a calm, confident friend by his side.
The boys are very active, so a family that enjoys spending time in nature would be ideal. A fully fenced garden would also be a huge bonus, as Gin may be very nervous of the outside world at first.
Gin in currently in Spain, but has already packed his bags and cannot wait to travel and discover his new home in Wales or England as soon as the right family or person comes forward.
