DESCRIPTION
Kibble and his siblings first came into our care as tiny puppies, born to Triana (who has now found a loving home of her own) who was brought into the pound as a stray.
She was a great mum to her babies during very difficult times, and as soon as we could we moved the family to a rescue site.
We had hoped the puppies would quickly find their forever homes, but sadly after 2 whole years, Kibble and some of his siblings are still waiting.
They have grown up in a rescue site, safe from the dangers of a pound environment, and thanks to the volunteer who has cared for them for the last two years, they have the opportunity to run and play outdoors - which would never have been possible if they had stayed in pound kennels. However, their time in such a rural environment has meant they are fearful of new people and new situations.
They've missed out on lots of the socialisation and new experiences most puppies would get in a home, and this means they can be wary on first meetings. They need time to build trust and confidence around people.
Kibble needs an experienced home, who really understands the commitment and patience needed to bring on a nervous adolescent dog, who has lived a very isolated life so far. Kibble is far too young to spend any more time in kennels. A loving family is what he needs to help him blossom into a happy, confident companion.
Kibble would love a resident companion, to show him the ropes once he's in a new home. He has never lived without doggy company, so we feel this would help him settle in. He has not been tested around cats, and we recommend a family with no children due to his very nervous nature.
Kibble would benefit from a secure garden to run and play in, particularly as he may unsure of walks at first. He doesn't know how to walk on a lead, and he hasn't had any housetraining so far. Everything about life in a home will be new to him, so he will need his family to go at his pace, letting him settle and approach when he feels ready.
We know a case like Kibble's is not easy, and he does need a home willing to work with him to slowly build his confidence and to show him how fun the world can be. But we're sure that, with time and in the right environment, it will be a joy to watch him learn to enjoy attention, walks and playtime as a dog his age should.
If you think you can offer Kibble what he needs, we would love to hear from you. He can be homed to England and Wales (not Scotland). He will be tested for Mediterranean diseases, will be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, de-fleaed and de-wormed and he will travel via pet transport with his own passport.
