DESCRIPTION
Kosem is a 3 month old female Hound Cross. She and her 5 siblings were found together with their mum next to a heavy traffic country road in Northern Spain, from where we were able to rescue them and get them to safety. She is a gorgeous hound breed cross, the vet assumes she is a Sabueso Cross. The mum weights about 25kg, but the father is unknown. We estimate Kosem will be of medium-large size, but that isn’t a guarantee why her forever home should be able to handle a larger dog and be ready for it, in the case Kosem grows more than expected.
The puppies personalities are really beginning to shine. Kosem is a happy and curious puppy. She is an adventurous little thing and isn’t shy about investigating new and unfamiliar situations. As a girl of such a tender age, Kosem is unscathed by events in her life to date and has the generous hearted innocence and wonderful playful temperament that can be expected of a puppy. Kosem has been handled from a very young age and is therefore confident in the presence of people. She doesn’t hesitate to approach, and she greets visitors with a wagging tail. She is friendly not only with her siblings but also with other dogs from her litter, and we wouldn’t have any concerns about her suitability for a home with another dog.
Kosem cannot be rehomed to families with young children, as we want her to be the priority in the home. We will only consider applications from adopters who are dog experience and have had dogs before or currently have a dog. Kosem is best suited to young or middle aged adopters, as she is of an active breed that loves being in nature and exploring the outdoors.
We’re looking for homes outside of the city. We think the puppies would prefer suburban or semi-rural homes, where they have lots of surrounding green spaces to explore, and the opportunity to go on long walks. As they are a hound cross, their recall will need lots of work and they need chances to sniff and scent, as this is a natural and rewarding behavior for the breed. The puppies have not experienced a conventional indoor home lifestyle, and therefore her adopter must be patient and understanding as she adjusts to an entirely new environment and routine.
They’re learning new things every day, so with a bit of time, they’re bound to adapt. Puppies require lots of training and continued socialization, and the outcome of putting in the hard work at their young age will be so rewarding when they grow into balanced, obedient young adults. This litter is currently based in Northern Spain but Kosem is ready to travel to England or Wales (NOT Scotland) once her right forever home comes forward. She is microchipped, vaccinated, health checked and comes with a full passport. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed and this will be a requirement of her adoption..
