DESCRIPTION
Milan first arrived in very poor condition. He had problems with his coat, he was dehydrated and he was anaemic.
Despite this, his sweet nature always shone through, and he let people treat him and look after him without ever causing a fuss.
He was diagnosed with leishmaniasis, which he has been receiving treatment for. Sadly, the fact that he has this means he will find it far more difficult to find a home. And a loving home with lots of cuddles and attention is the thing he needs most.
Milan is a really special boy. He is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time around people. He is gentle, easy-going and he shares his space with other dogs and with cats (who he is so patient and accepting of).
A visitor to the rescue site Milan lives at even got him to help out when it came to walking a very nervous dog - and Milan was the perfect guide. He walks really nicely on lead and shows no signs of fear when he's out and about.
Whoever is lucky enough to take Milan home with them, will be taking home a treasure. Please don't let his condition put you off adopting - With the right management, dogs with leishmaniasis can live long, happy lives. We would be more than happy to explain all about what this means for Milan (and about leishmaniasis itself in more detail) if you'd like to find out more.
Milan could share his home with other four-legged friends, and he would really like someone who has lots of time to give. At the moment when he has his daily visitors to the rescue site, he cuddles up to them and starts whining, as if he's so happy to have the attention and company he doesn't want them to leave. For a dog like him it's particularly hard not to have a family of his own, and we hope more than anything that someone chooses to bring him home with them.
