Nico is a Yorkshire Terrier Cross of about 3 years, who is
currently in our care in Northern Spain. He was found in the mountains. We don't know how he ended up there, if he was abandoned or if he escaped from his previous place, but from how he looked like and the conditions of his coat he was already wandering for a longer time in the mountains or the conditions where he previously was weren't the best ones.
Since Nico is in our care he transformed from the ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. He is a happy, loving little dog, who is affectionate and enjoys the company of humans. He is also an active and playful boy who likes to go out for walks or be around other dogs. As long as he gets the activity he needs, he is a calm and super relaxed boy at home who likes to snuggle on the sofa. He is not completely housetrained yet, but on the right way to learn it. On the lead he walks quite well.
Nico likes to talk :) As typical Yorkshire he can be vocal on walks when he sees other dogs or at unexpected noises, so a quiet environment would be preferable. Nico has been tested with dogsafty cats and behaves well with them, also he is at the beginnning a bit unsecure/shy towards them. As he isn't used to live with them, he will need patient, time and a right introduction in the case his forever home has cats at home.
We are looking for a home where Nico will have the company of a further dog. A further dog is important for him, as he becomes sad when he is the only dog at home. His future forever home should also be happy to spend time with him outside and take him out for long walks, to meet other dogs he can play with or to any other activities. His size shouln't confuse you, he isn't a bag dog, but more a little whirlwind.
