DESCRIPTION
Meet Tuno, a wonderful boy we have recently taken in to find a new home.
Tuno came from the pound originally, absolutely terrified of people. He would snap when people tried to touch him, crouching on the ground because he was so afraid of what might happen to him. We had to take from the pound with a muzzle on, the poor boy crouched as low as he could with his head to the ground. A kind volunteer we work with took him in, and he became very attached to her, he was her shadow as soon as he realised nothing bad would happen. The issue was that he was so nervous of other dogs, he would snap at them- purely out of fear and because they were bigger than him, but at only 5-6kg, every dog was bigger than him. And with so many dogs to care for, it seemed he may not get on with other dogs. But Tuno adapted so well, and followed the corrections given to him by other dogs. Now he can be around other dogs and cats, and he’s so well behaved.
He is brilliant at home, with visitors and with children. As you can see from the videos, he is a very sweet boy at heart, who just needs to trust and feel safe to let his true personality come out.
Bruno is a dog that needs a patient, experienced and understanding home, who will support him through all the change and stress that will come with a new home and the journey to the UK. Could that be you?
With the right support and patience, we have no doubt that Tuno will make a wonderful addition to his family. He is a very sweet, sensitive boy, but he can be wary and he needs time to settle and feel confident in new environments. With the right support, we feel he will do very well in his new home, but his new family will need to be aware of his limitations when he first arrives, giving him safe spaces and lots of time to settle.
As Tuno forms close attachments with the people he trusts, he can become distressed when left. He will need a home who has lots of time to give, and flexibility to work on leaving him alone at home.
