DESCRIPTION

This beautiful 5.5 years old boy is Vayu, a Mastin who came into the pound in Northern Spain as an unclaimed stray. He is a wonderful dog, as gentle as he is giant. He shares his kennel with male and female dogs, and he really seemed to enjoy the affection and time he got to spend with the volunteer who visited the pound.

Vayu was quite underweight when he arrived, but even then weighs 71kg, so in full body condition and at the right weight, we imagine he could even reach over 80kg. He is a very big boy, but he’s calm walking and deals well with the lead and harness.

As Vayu is in kennels at the pound, we can’t know what life experiences he has had to date. We don’t know if he has ever lived in a home, or had a family, but from the visits in the pound and what we have seen from him there he has to be a piece of gold. He will need patient, understanding adopters with experience of very large or giant breed dogs. He may need to learn all the basics, from house training to manners at home. A rural envirnoment with a garden garden would be ideal for him.

Vayu is like a big bear, very relaxed and calm in the pound and gets perfectly along with other dogs which are in the same cage. His eye expression is very sad and it’s really heartbreaking to see this lovely boy behind bars. We have promised to find him a lovely home, where he will be loved, get cuddles, receive attention and affection, sleep in a warm bed and get long walks, he deserves it. Please be aware that he cannot be tested around cats, and has not been seen around children. 


Vayu is microchipped, vaccinated, blood tested, health checked and neutered. He is ready to travel to UK as soon as the family comes forward who can offer him a lovely home.
